About the Author
Fabio Biondi
Fabio Biondi is a freelancer, living in the north-east of Italy. Since 2003, he deals almost exclusively with the Adobe Flash Platform technologies.
He is an Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI) in Flex, AIR, Flash Professional, Flash Catalyst, and FlashLite (ACE) and he has devoted all his time and resources to the development of custom interactive user interfaces for web, mobile, and touch displays for many international brands.
Since 2011 he has been focusing almost entirely on the development of cross-platform web applications in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, AngularJS, and HTML5 canvas through the use of the CreateJS suite.
Fabio runs a blog (www.fabiobiondi.com/blog) and a YouTube channel (http://www.youtube. com/user/BiondiFabio) where he provides tutorials, snippets, and many prototypes related to HTML5, AIR, Flash, Arduino, Kinect, and collaborative applications.

don't know who this book is for

Content starts on page three and effectively ends on 38: that's 50 cents per page.
Not much can actually fit into 35 pages. It's a "hello world" tutorial. Not much more.

A really good start!

In general this book is a really good start for learning a solid way of working with the HTML5 canvas element.
But, if you (like me) come from years of Flash programming, this book is a must have.
The book explains clearly and in detail the key points on which to focus for becoming productive in no time.
You start of course from the classic "Hello World" and you will end up talking about how to make cross-platform web applications for desktop and mobile devices.
Meanwhile you will learn key concepts such as Display List, Spritesheets and Tweens and you will be explained how to use the graphical primitives design, graphic filters and how to manage complex sprite animations!
In short, you will be taught everything you need to know to interact with the incredible power of the canvas element.
All this has been made possible thanks to the great work of the team of Grant Skinner that has developed CreateJS, the a suite of Javascript libraries & tools for building rich, interactive experiences with HTML5 on which this book is based.
I can tell you for sure that you will enjoy again in programming!

GREAT Jump Starter Book - Very Happy with purchase

I started going to a local meetup and they were talking about CreateJS and EaselJS so when I happened up on this little ebook I decided to give it a try.
Sometimes when jumping into a new platform or SDK you just need a little bit of QUICK and DIRTY help, and that's exactly what this book is.
The book is short, sweet and to the point. Not to in-depth so don't expect to be spinning and touching things to flying off the screen.
This book just gives you a very quick into the EaselJS, PreloadJS, TweenJS, and how to use the some of the common objects to get you going.
I really liked this approach for something simple, now I can take my time and play before spending more money on something more in-depth.
