This book removes the veil from the mystery of money. Nearly all money is simply virtual - computer entries by highly leveraged privately-owned banks that create money out of thin air. Worse, they are allowed to lend their capital up to twenty times or more and collect interest on it each time. Still worse many of the loans are made to hedge funds and the financial industry that make huge profits without creating any new real wealth that is tangible and useful. Hellyer's book explains exactly what has to be done. Bank ratios have to be reduced dramatically. At the same time the proportion of money created by governments (who own the patent on behalf of the people) has to be substantially increased. This will allow the fiscal flexibility necessary to balance their budgets and help finance critically important projects such as the transformation from an oil economy to one based on clean fuels. Many other major problems could be solved by a substantial infusion of debt free money.

Finally a KIS book for The Folks

I am now 65' in full retirement, spent 41 yrs in law enforcement with most of the time being a detective - this means I was a desk cop with no real exercise program and very bad eating habits.

During this period I tried a lot of programs and diets and all I did was Yo Yo on my weight and hurt myself on the track or in the gym.

I also believed most of what the company's said about their Vits, powders, and such. Also I just knew that my Docs would not lead me a stray.

So 3 yrs ago I retired and by research I am now doing most of what is talked about in this book and became fitter and lost weight.

What this book will do for me , is give me a program and structure to what I now know to be a great way to stay healthy as I age.

Also the food part of this program is not diet - it is simple and great way to eat with the joy and taste of clean eating.

I wish I had been exposed to this type of thinking, in the book, many years ago.

Finally a Honest Book in the Fitness Industry

I love this book Easy to understand, Easy to Follow and no More Mimics and False Promises about how to get in shape. I had read many books about fitness and half of the books are pages and pages of BS. I love how Philp is so knowledgeable about Fitness, Nutrition..etc.
If you are ready to make a change in your life THiS IS THE BOOK!!!

Amazing Book and the only one you will really need

I read several E books on Weight lifting such as "Bigger , leaner ,Stronger' , burn the fat feed the muscle, 51 days, shredded beast and a few others. I like Phil's book a lot and shredded beast is a good one too - Bigger leaner strategy of heavy weights did not workout for me

Phils' book is the deal , he explains how to pick the right foods and what they are , explains the macro nutrients and then goes in detail on what weights to lift and the concept of muscle under tension. Phil is one of the few authors who is not pushing any supplements and his body is proof of his advice . The expanded edition is well written and I use his Workout routines and I can see muscle definition on me from his 8-10 reps with proper form.

Eating right and what to eat and how to Workout is all clear in this book and I am gonna stop reading any more books because it will only add to confusion and make me lose my focus

Concise yet helpful

I used this book in my English 104 (Critical thinking/argument) class in college. The chapters are concise, to the point. Do not let the short book fool you. It is very helpful. It explains what you need to know very well. This will teach you how to argue and how not to argue. The book is not edited well though. I found some grammatical errors. I thought it would be funny to point that out.

KEEP THIS BOOK FOREVER

KEEP THIS BOOK! I made the mistake of selling it back and should have held onto it. I wasnt done with all my english classes in college at the time and for some reason I always went back for reference in citing and whatnot. Lots of information on how to write academically. Keep for future reference on writing in life!

The Visitant by Megan Chance is written in a style that reminded me of Gothic Romances when I was growing up where everything is not what it seems and there seems to be someone watching you, and at the Basilio Palazzo where Elena Spira is sent to nurse Samuel Ferber back to health, it was entirely believable.

After Elena makes a terrible mistake that caused a big mess for her family and public disgrace for herself, Elena is sent to Venice to nurse a man named Samuel back to health. Her father felt out of sight, and out of mind, and he wanted his daughter to be free of all the scandal in New York, so he sent her that far away to bring Samuel back better, as Samuel's very wealthy parents have decided it is better to get him married and hopefully healed in body mind and spirit. On top of that he suffers from epilepsy which is something that was a stigma back when this novel takes place.

When Elena gets to Venice she can't believe that where she will be is at a Palazzo that is crumbling and in a sad state of disrepair. The water in the canals is filthy and smells bad and there is black mold all over the outside of the palazzo and the inside is almost as bad. When she sees Samuel for the first time, he had taken so much laudanum, that he looked so out of it. She sees that he is not aware really of anything and she confiscates the laudanum and hides it. When Samuel is awake again he begs and demands his medicine back, as he really is in pain, but the laudanum confuses him and causes him to have hallucinations that end up causing him to have seizures.

When Elena tries to get help from the other people there, they just offer no help at all, and one of the women is a bad influence on Samuel and gives him what he wants which is another reason Samuel is so sick. Elena repeatedly has to chase this woman away from Samuel and the last straw is when he drinks a whole bottle of liquor. One night before her eyes Samuel starts going into a seizure but not before he acts like he can see the ghost of a woman that he thinks is really there! Elena can smell the rotten sea and a distinct smell of perfume as well!

An impoverished nobleman Nero Basilio, Samuel’s closest friend and the owner of the palazzo, finally arrives and Elena finally gets some answers, and he thinks that there is indeed a ghost! There seems to be dark forces there that not only hold Samuel in thrall but Nero as well. Caught between these two, Elena is desperate to find out what is going on but nothing is as it seems and then something horrible happens!

This book was so well written, the descriptions of everything is very detailed and everything from the food to the clothes and the way the people talk there is so well documented to make this book a real ghost story- mystery and the stage is set for the unthinkable to happen and it does. The characters are all well developed, the atmosphere is perfect and together it all works to make this story really work!

The plot is excellent and swiftly moves from one stage to the next, and there is even time in all of this for Elena to fall in love! The end of this book will surprise you as it did me and I really loved how it ended

I gave this book 5***** awesome stars and hope to read more by this author.

Have you ever had an idea of what something might be like but then it’s totally different? It was November 1884, and Elena Spires had been traveling for two weeks. When the reader first meets her, she’s in Venice on a gondola. When the gondolier stops before the Ca’ Basillo, she observes, “the three-story palazzo was white stone, and so ruined I thought perhaps the gondolier had got it wrong. No one could possibly live here.” She finds the housekeeper, Giulia, most unwelcoming.

Elena had been sent by her father from New York to nurse Samuel Farber back to health after he’d been badly beaten – then to return him to New York where he is betrothed to be married in January. His friend, Nero Basillo, allowed him to stay at the palazzo as long as he needed to recuperate. It doesn’t take Elena long to feel that things are amiss, like she is being watched. She observes the strange waking dreams Samuel has of an angel. Elena believes he is hallucinating until she also begins to see something … but what?

It’s a wonderful story but I felt it was just a bit drawn out. Elena is a very appealing character with a bit of naivety and I could feel her frustration as she was trying to tend to Samuel Farber’s needs without an ounce of help from anyone. Even the ‘not so nice’ characters were believable and well-defined. The author uses wonderful imagery of the scenes so that the reader can practically imagine him or herself there. Rating: 4 out of 5.

Not a mystery, not suspenseful, not intriguing...rather boring!

I got this as a Kindle Unlimited book. I love Venice and mysteries, though I'm not fond of historical novels. I realize reading a book based on locale alone is not wise but though with the ghost story twist this book might work. The book was nothing more than historical romance disguised as intrigue. The book was slow and often repetitive, not to mention predictable. I skimmed several chapters half way through not missing any of the pertinent details of the story. If you like historical romances, this is the book for you.
