Father Brown brings a Christian voice to his stories but in a quiet manner that is not in your face.
These stories have such a twist and turn that they keep you dangling until the end. It always appears that
the bad guy didn't do it until the end and sometimes he didn't do it. It is my type of mystery -keeps you on your toes, without much blood and gore! This last set of CDs, we purchased for our 95 year old priest who loves reading but has problems with his eyes. He is loving them. I give them 4 stars.

Don't we all wish that our communities were under the influence of Jesus and directed by Him? Bob Moffett lays out the Scriptural basis of what the world should look like, if sin hadn't broken everything. Moffett has some very practical ways how you (and also your church) can impact your community. His aim is not to just for the reader do "good works" but to move the reader into a closer relationship with God. Christians are agents of change in our communities, and we need to take back that role from the world.

Practical answers to what is usually just a theoretical concept

Most Christian books are long philosophy and short on practical, concrete application steps. This book not only does both well in the subject matter ( I'll not repeat what you can find on other people's reviews), but serves as a model of how books should be writting.
Moffitt offers a 1) foundation (liberal churches need better theology and conservative churches need better social activity), 2) a step by step modal for doing community ministry as a local church, and 3) a step by step model for doing community ministry as a family. Key to this is Moffit's emphasis on working WITH the community, and not FOR the community.
